UCoat It options creates safer work environments
One of the many advantages of using an epoxy floor coating system is the degree of flexibility you have to custom-tailor the floor covering to fit the exact requirements of your application. UCoat It floor systems allow for a number of safety enhancements including safety lines, floor graphics and varying broadcasts of anti-slip aggregates.

Anti-Slip Options
All UCoat It systems come standard with UTex™ anti-slip aluminum oxide suitable for most areas. UTex is an industrial-grade crystal aggregate that is hand broadcast to desired density onto the UCoat bond coat while it is tacky. Once dry, the UCoat epoxy finish coat will roll over it and bond it into place, while still allowing the edges of the granules to protrude through.

UTex™	URock®

URock® option - URock is a quartz aggregate that may be used as an alternative to UTex. Although URock granules are larger than UTex granules, they have a rounded shape that allows for a less aggressive bite. URock is typically used as an alternative to UTex in areas where the floor may come in contact with bare feet (locker rooms, living areas) or paws (pet kennels). URock is also a better alternative to UTex when a very textured anti-slip surface is desired. When using URock as an anti-slip option, UGloss-AF urethane top coat is recommended.

How Applied
If you require a non-slip floor, broadcast the UTex by hand as heavily or lightly as desired as you are rolling out the bond coat. Remember, UTex is meant to provide grip. Applying too much UTex may make wiping or mopping your floor very difficult. Use it sparingly.

URock is broadcast by hand as heavily or lightly as desired as you are rolling out the bond coat. Typically used with a UGloss or UGloss-AF clear top coat system for a decorative aggregate finish, but may be used as a color enhancement to any standard UCoat It top coat system or substituted for UTex for a less aggressive finish.

Cost
One jug of UTex material will typically handle up to 1000 sq.ft. (we include one jug for every 576 sq.ft. of UCoat epoxy). Additional jugs of UTex may be purchased for a coarse, anti-slip surface.

URock is available in quantities of 10 lbs $17.95 and 25 lbs $38.95. Includes URock decorative aggregate only. Choice of color. Requires UCoat It epoxy base system and top coat materials for application.

Safety Markings and Graphics
Perhaps one of the easiest and most effective ways to make your area safer is through the use of safety lines or traffic markings. Floor graphics are not only ideal, but in some cases required, giving you the ability to manage traffic flow, delineate walkways, and cordon off hazardous areas.

Striping or walkways can be easily added on top of your UCoat It base system, usually through the use of UGloss-AF color-tinted urethane. Areas are masked using professional quality painters tape and then coated. We offer UCoat and UGloss-AF in OSHA-standard colors: Safety Yellow and Safety Red, but graphics may be added in any of our other available colors.
