UCoat It Antimicrobial Floor Coating Systems

System Description
The Antimicrobial (-AM) Series from UCoat It is a line of floor coating products featuring an additive compound integrated during the manufacturing process. UCoat It has been working with leading biocide manufacturers to develop coating products wherein the dry coating film of these products are mildew resistant, resists mold fungus, resists microbial odor development and retards the growth and action of bacterial odors. UCoat It -AM Series products retain all the classic benefits of our standard floor coating products with identical chemical and abrasion resistance profiles.

UCoat It -AM series floor coatings are USDA approved. UCoat It tested products with a blend of EPA registered biocides (EPA Reg. No. 10445-103 and 1706-196) for which 10445-103 has FDA approval under CFR 176.170, 176.180, and 176.300. (Refer to code for applicable limitations). Accordingly, our -AM product line may be beneficial for any industry that requires a coating film to prevent micro-organisms from degrading the product.

How Applied
UCoat-AM epoxy is applied with a 1/2" nap roller and brush in two coats: the Bond Coat and the Finish Coat. The Bond coat is applied directly to a dampened, prepared concrete surface, allowing UCoat to flow and penetrate the porous concrete or wood floor and permanently bond to the substrate. If an anti-slip surface is desired, UTex anti-slip aggregate is broadcast by hand on top of the bond coat while it is still tacky. The UCoat finish coat is applied after the bond coat is dry to the touch (4-6 hrs @ 68°F/20°C), but within 72 hours.
