System Description
An applicaiton of UCoat epoxy is first rolled out over the substrate. This modified, two-component, water based, high-performance epoxy coating exhibits performance characteristics rivaling solvent-based products. Suitable for commercial, industrial or residential use, UCoat offers exceptional chemical resistance, abrasion resistance, and superior adhesion properties.

After the UCoat epoxy applicaiton, UFlek incorporates a broadcast of colored decorative vinyl flake sealed with UGloss, our water based, chemical resistant, high-gloss clear top coat. Formulated for non-automotive floors, this acrylic urethane exhibits abrasion resistance without the solvent odors associated with typical urethanes making it ideal for use in basements or other areas with limited ventilation. Adding the UFlek top coat over the basic UCoat epoxy system provides additional durability, resistance to wear and tear, and increased light reflection. The added element of the UFlek colored flakes is not only for decorative purposes, but can create a visual pattern which helps to disguise surface marks and imperfections in the concrete.

How Applied
UCoat epoxy is applied with a 1/2" nap roller and brush in two coats: the bond coat and the finish coat. The bond coat is applied directly to a dampened, prepared concrete surface. If an anti-slip surface is desired, UTex anti-slip aggregate is broadcast by hand on top of the bond coat while it is still tacky. The UCoat finish coat is applied after the bond coat is dry to the touch (4-6 hrs @ 68°F/20°C), and within 72 hours. UFlek vinyl flakes are broadcast on top of the tacky UCoat finish coat while it is still wet. The UGloss clear top coat is applied after the UCoat finish coat is dry to the touch (4-6 hrs @ 68°F/20°C), and within 36 hours.
