Simeone Museum Selects UCoat It
For
Restoration Shop Floor Coating
PHILADELPHIA, Pa., (June 18, 2008) – The Simeone Foundation Museum, located here, has selected UCoat It® America LLC as the supplier of floor coating systems for the facility’s restoration/maintenance shop area. UCoat® medium blue water-based, commercial-grade epoxy floor coating was used in the 5,000-square-foot shop area, finished with a UGloss-AF® high-gloss topcoat.
“We selected UCoat It for the shop floor coating because we knew it had been used successfully in thousands of automotive dealerships,” said Fred Simeone, executive director of the Simeone Foundation Museum. “It has proven that it can withstand years of abuse from automotive chemicals and equipment. Plus, it looks fantastic.”
Another consideration was the ease and speed of application of the UCoat It system. Facility Manager Michael Loveland noted that, since the base coat is water based and doesn’t create noxious fumes, other work in the building could continue while the coating was being applied. The floor was ready to walk on in just six hours and cars could be driven in the next day.
The Simeone Foundation Museum is a collection of 60 of the rarest and most significant racing sports cars in the world – including the 1938 Alfa Romeo that many feel is one of the most beautiful racing sports cars ever built. The Simeone Foundation Museum is the creation of noted neurosurgeon Frederick Simeone, who started the collection five decades ago. Complete information is available at www.simeonemuseum.com.
