The Jay Leno Show (website) debuted Monday, September 14, 2009 on NBC. Eagerly anticipated for several months, it was Jay Leno's return to prime time television after his "retirement" as host of the Tonight Show and is highly regarded by critics and fans alike.
Before moving in, the existing concrete floor was left bare, unprotected and in serious need of dressing up. The area is exposed to extensive foot traffic and equipment use including movable camera mounts, seating, lighting, carts, dollies, and other set equipment. Besides being durable enough to handle the traffic, the floor also needs to look sharp and be easy to clean!
WATER-BASED FORMULA CHOSEN FOR DURABILITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS
The Studio 11 set of 3,500 square feet was coated in Medium Blue with the UCoat® with UGloss® system. Due to the location, there were several environmental factors to consider. The show staff and Jay take satisfaction in knowing that the UCoat It floor coating system they used was environmentally friendly being water-based, odor-free and fast-drying, while retaining the properties of a durable, commercial grade floor coating with chemical and abrasion resistance.
Jay Leno has had UCoat It in his own Big Dog Garage facility since 2007.
